This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with work hours after school and on weekends. This includes planning, designing, and implementing a developmentally appropriate technology curriculum that meets the individual needs of each child in one to one or classroom settings.

High school diploma required. Graduation from an accredited College or University preferred. Minimum of one year experience in residential care setting with children. Proficiency in the use of a personal computer, and in the use of word processing, database, and related software.

Must pass all criminal history background checks. Must have Texas driver's license and provide Department of Public Safety proof of driving record acceptable to agency insurers for the past three (3) years. Must submit to pre-employment drug screen and TB test as well as random drug screens when directed.

The Director of Finance will work with the Executive Director (ED) in the management of the fiscal aspects of the Agency to ensure the highest level of financial integrity and proper presentation of financial position. The Director of Finance will manage the daily operations of the finance office and its staff, and work directly with the Executive Director and the Finance Committee of the Board to implement agency financial goals. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Supervise finance office staff.
  • Comply with applicable aspects of Governmental Auditing Standards and IRS regulations for 501 (c) 3 corporations in areas such as (including but not limited to) proper accounting of financial transactions to ensure protection of assets and preparation of financial statements, maintenance of proper internal accounting controls, qualifying donations, and maintaining asset inventory.
  • Complete 24 hours annually of applicable continuing education coursework in order to maintain a current knowledge of nonprofit accounting procedures. Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures and internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
  • Develop a strong, supportive working relationship with Agency leadership. Attend applicable Agency leadership/staff meetings, presentations and training sessions as required by ED and/or grantors.
  • Assist in training and implementation of accounting procedures.
  • Properly and accurately maintain the general ledger, including monthly reconciliation of asset and liability accounts, review of income and expense accounts and preparation of monthly grant expense allocations.
  • Ensure compliance with the financial guidelines of grants and contracts, including timely submission of required financial reports and reimbursement requests.
  • Assist in preparation  of applications for new or renewable grants, including compilation of required financial information.
  • Prepare and present to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors accurate and timely monthly financial statements including balance sheet, profit and loss statement and cash flow report and various other reports as requested by ED, Finance Committee and/or Board.
  • Prepare summary monthly financial reports (including grant worksheets) for the directors of each program area. Provide additional detail as requested.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget including compilation of information needed to make appropriate strategic decisions, manage departments and assess accomplishment of goals.
  • Work with ED, Finance Committee, independent auditor and/or grant auditors to complete required annual audits.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Board.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or business related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience; non-profit or governmental experience beneficial.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory or management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possess a high level of problem solving skills and proven leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate the required financial reports and implement necessary financial controls required in a non-profit or government entity.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, including coworkers, Board members and grant/contract personnel.
  • Work history which demonstrates progressive responsibility in accounting and management.
  • Well versed in the use of accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks or similar package).
  • Experience in creating and managing Excel spreadsheets as well as other standard office software applications.
  • Passion for making a difference in the community.

The Assistant Program Director will be responsible for managerial, operational and administrative duties relating to The Jameson Center, Child Placing Agency (CPA). The Assistant Program Director is supervised by the Chief Operating Officer or designee and is subject to work overtime and be on-call 24/7. The Assistant Program Director will supervise Case Managers and an Administrative Assistant relating to the referral and placement of children in the DUCS (Division of Accompanied Children's Services), ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) in addition to the Home Assessment Program (HAP).  Masters in Social Work or related discipline. Licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator (LCPAA) and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). At least (2) two years experience in management and supervision of child placement agency personnel, organizational skills, fiscal responsibility and strong background in federal regulations and standards. Experience in family reunification or family preservation, and/or foster care and adoption home study preparation. Pass drug test, T.B. test and background checks. Must possess valid driver's license.
