Stephanie is the Marketing Director for LifeWorks, a nonprofit serving youth and families in crisis. She oversees print and e-communications, manages their social media and monitors agency branding. Stephanie also teaches Information Design and Writing for PR/Marketing/Social Media at St. Edward's University.
Ted Smith is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and has been named a “Texas Super Lawyer” in the field of Labor Law by Texas Monthly magazine since 2003. He is also included in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Labor and Employment Law. In 2003, Mr. Smith co-founded the law firm of Cornell Smith & Mierl, L.L.P. Mr. Smith specializes in representing employers in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, from training and advice to litigation and appeal.
This panel presentation will focus on using social media successfully AND ethically. The workshop will address issues of particular interest to youth serving organizations and how to create a win-win for both the employer and their employees. Participants will learn best practices for integrating social media with fundraising campaigns and marketing strategies along with what are the safeguards every youth serving agency should have in place to reduce risk.
